Kenny Dalglish dismisses diving claims against Luis Suarez

Anfield boss Kenny Dalglish has hit back at suggestions that Liverpool livewire Luis Suarez is a serial diver. West Brom’s Austrian midfielder Paul Scharner said Suarez was ‘one of the best on the planet’ at winning penalties after Liverpool’s victory at the Hawthorns last week, claiming it was ‘a nice dive’ that saw a spot-kick awarded. However, Dalglish insists the Uruguayan striker has no case to answer as there was clearly a foul on him by Jerome Thomas at The Hawthorns.

“People try and find it easy to criticise Luis because he is such a good player. Rather than wax lyrical about him, they try and find a fault that they see in him but isn’t there.

“For us, Luis Suarez does fantastic — there is nothing for us to defend about him.”

Liverpool vs Swansea City today and Suarez will sure be the star of the game. The other English Premier League fixtures on Saturday are Manchester United vs Sunderland and Blackburn Rovers vs Chelsea. Junior Hoilett is expected to return for Blackburn after being forced off in last week’s draw with Norwich.
