Rachel Weisz attended a screening of “The Whistleblower” in New York on Wednesday, July 27, 2011.
I have to agree with my fellow blogger that Rachel Weisz has ugly legs.
Amy Winehouse may have been dead for six hours before her body was found lying in bed by a security staffer. Prior to Amy Winehouse’s death, the singer, whose struggles with substances had been well-documented in the press, both British and beyond, had visited her doctor. According to The Sun, Winehouse had just seen her doctor the night before she passed away, and that he “was happy with her condition. When he left on Friday night he had no concerns. Less than 24 hours later she was found dead … Amy’s health has been very fragile and she has been having a series of check-ups.”
Earlier, Sunday tabloids in the UK claimed Winehouse was seen buying drugs from a dealer in Camden just after 10.30pm. It was claimed she bought narcotics including cocaine, ecstasy and ketamine. But the singer’s family labelled the claims “nonsense”, The Sun reported.
Amy’s father Mitch, who famously predicted she would die if she failed to quit drink and drugs, said he was devastated by her death but has vowed not to crack up for Amy’s sake. On a jazz tour in New York, Mr Winehouse said: “I’m coming home. I have to be with Amy. I can’t crack up for her sake. My family need me.”
The Winehouse’s, which include Amy’s mother Janis, her father and her brother Alex, said in their press release, “Our family has been left bereft by the loss of Amy, a wonderful daughter, sister, niece. She leaves a gaping hole in our lives.”
The Winehouse family statement continued, “We are coming together to remember her and we would appreciate some privacy and space at this terrible time.”
Reg Traviss, who had previously turned down a marriage proposal from the singer, was desperate to help Winehouse turn her life around, friends said. In March, Traviss said: “We’ve been together nearly a year now and we’re very happy. Amy’s doing well, she’s fine. She’s healthy and happy.” When he realised Amy Winehouse could not beat her demons, Traviss ended the relationship.
In an interview last October with Harper’s Bazaar magazine, Amy Winehouse was asked if she was happy. She replied: “I don’t know what you mean. I’ve got a very nice boyfriend. He’s very good to me.” And, asked if she had any unfulfilled ambitions, Amy replied: “Nope! If I died tomorrow, I would be a happy girl.”
Amy Winehouse’s death at the age of 27 has shaken the world, with tributes pouring in from fellow musicians and fans.
“She was my musical soulmate and like a sister to me. This is one of the saddest days of my life.” — Back to Black producer Mark Ronson, who has worked closely with the singer, led the emotional tributes to the 27-year-old singer on Twitter.
“Truly sad news about Amy Winehouse. My heart goes out to her family. May her troubled soul find peace,” Demi Moore told her followers on Twitter.
Singer Rihanna: “Dear God have mercy!!! I am sick about this right now! I am genuinely heartbroken about this. Dear Amy.”
Singer Nicki Minaj: “Please tell me Amy Winehouse didn’t die. Is this some sick joke?”
Singer Ricky Martin: “I just found out. I feel pain. I feel anger. Rest beautiful girl rest. You are free! RIP Amy.”
Reality TV star Kim Kardashian: “I just heard the news that Amy Winehouse passed away. What a true talent. I pray she’s in a better place & at peace.”
According to Us magazine, the Grammy award-winning artist will be buried during a private funeral to be held on July 26th.
